Estate planning software for the whole job, not just the document.
Drafting is perhaps a fifth of estate planning. The other four fifths are finding the client, taking instructions, chasing the signature, getting paid and storing the thing safely. Willo does all of it.
Estate planning software produces and manages the documents a practitioner creates for living clients — wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts and the paperwork around them — and, in the better systems, the practice around those documents too. Willo is a UK system covering both halves: guided drafting, and the client record, communication, follow-ups and invoicing that surround it. £150 a month for the drafter, unlimited documents, no VAT added, no contract.
The part nobody sells you#
Every provider in this market sells the drafting. It is the demonstrable bit — you can put it on a stand at a conference and show a will appearing. But if you have run a practice for a year you already know that drafting was never the bottleneck.
The bottleneck is the client who said they would think about it and never came back. The signature that sat unwitnessed for five weeks. The invoice you meant to raise. The severance you drafted but never registered. The review appointment you promised in 2024. None of those are drafting problems, and none of them are solved by a faster clause library.
So Willo treats the whole job as one system:
| Stage | What Willo does |
|---|---|
| Enquiry | Client record created, source tracked, straight into the pipeline |
| Fact find | Structured fact find and client portal, so they fill in what they can themselves |
| Instructions | Guided drafting — the questions in the order you ask them |
| Drafting | Wills, LPAs, trusts, severances and letters of wishes, validated as you go |
| Approval | Branded quote, invoice, and documents out for checking |
| Execution | Follow-up hub chases the signature rather than your memory |
| Fulfilment | Print, bind and post under your branding |
| Storage | Will deposit through Custodian |
| Review | Scheduled follow-ups, so a 2026 client is a 2031 client |
What it drafts#

Trusts — property protection, life interest and discretionary. Severances of joint tenancy. Letters of wishes. All included, all in one price, with no separate trust module.

What it runs#
- Client CRM — family trees, assets, notes, every document and email on one record
- Client communication — email from your own domain, SMS campaigns, video meetings
- Invoicing and payments — quotes, invoices, expenses, GoCardless Direct Debit
- Print and post — finished packs posted under your branding
- Ask Willo — an assistant inside the software for the "how do I" questions
Who it is for#
Estate planners running a practice single-handed who want to take on more without hiring. Will writers moving into trusts and LPAs. Private client departments wanting faster turnaround and fewer drafting errors. Financial advisers and accountants adding estate planning to what they already do for the same clients. And people who finished training last month with nothing but a laptop.
There is a page for each: estate planners, will writers, solicitors, financial advisers, accountants, starting out.

The bit that is not software at all#
Willo is built by Project Will, who have supported UK estate planners since 2009 and now support more than 500 of them. Alongside the software there is free UKRLP-registered training, overflow drafting when you are underwater, print and post, will storage and marketing support — and a phone number answered by people who draft for a living.
Estate planning is a small, scattered profession and most practitioners work alone. The software matters. Not having to work it out alone matters more.
Questions about the wider job.
What is estate planning software?
Estate planning software is a system used by professionals to produce and manage estate planning work: wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts and the documents around them. The better systems go beyond drafting to hold the client record, track a case from enquiry to completion, handle client communication and invoicing, and route finished documents to print, post and storage. It is distinct from consumer will-making websites, which produce a single document for one person's own use.
How is it different from will writing software?
In practice the terms are used interchangeably in the UK, but "estate planning software" usually implies the wider scope — trusts and lifetime planning as well as wills, and the practice management around them. Willo covers both meanings, which is why we describe it either way depending on what someone is looking for.
Does it handle probate or estate administration?
No. Willo is pre-death planning. Post-death estate administration is a genuinely different discipline with different software — Isokon and LEAP Estates are the established names there, and we would point you at them rather than claim ground we do not hold.
Can several people in the practice work on the same client?
Yes, and it does not cost more. Every user is included in the one price, so there is no incentive to share a login — which is what per-user pricing quietly encourages and which is a data protection problem waiting to happen.
