Willoby Project Will
Who it's for

For will writers who want the next tier of work.

Most will writers stall at the same place — trusts and LPAs, where the work pays better and the software suddenly costs more. Ours doesn't.

Willo is used by professional will writers across England and Wales to draft wills, LPAs and trusts, and to run the practice around them. £150 a month per drafter, unlimited documents, no contract, no accreditation required.

The wall most will writers hit#

You can build a decent living on wills alone, and then you reach the ceiling. The next tier of work — LPAs and trusts — pays better, deepens the client relationship, and is where most will writers stop.

Two things usually stop them. The first is confidence, which is a training problem. The second is that the software makes it expensive: trust drafting is routinely sold as a separate paid module, so the month you start offering the work that pays best, your bill goes up.

We do neither. Trusts and LPAs are included at the same price, and the training is free — properly registered, UKPRN 10101187, and the same ground other UK providers charge £600 to £1,000 for.

What changes day to day#

You stop retyping. Family tree, attorneys, executors, beneficiaries — entered once on the client record and drawn from there for every document. The commonest error in this job is the same person spelled two ways across two documents, and it disappears.

You stop maintaining templates. When the OPG reissues a form or the law moves, we update Willo. If you are currently drafting in Word against a precedent bank you maintain yourself, this is the hidden cost you have stopped noticing.

You stop losing the ones that went quiet. The follow-up hub chases the unsigned will and the unpaid invoice. The cases that cost you money are never the difficult ones.

You stop printing. Print and post does the paper, bound and posted under your name.

Pricing, and the two things that catch will writers out#

VAT. Almost every price in this market is quoted excluding it. Willo is not VAT registered, so £150 is the whole amount — where £150 + VAT elsewhere is £180 actually leaving your account, if your practice is under the threshold and cannot reclaim it.

Document caps. Arken's entry price covers ten documents a month, with further packs at £12.50 each. Ours covers as many as you can draft. A will writer having a good month should not be buying more capacity in order to have it.

£150 a month per drafter, every document type included. See pricing and the full comparison.

Questions

Before you ask.

Do I need to be a Society of Will Writers or IPW member?

Not to use Willo. Some providers require trade body membership before they will sell to you, which quietly adds a few hundred pounds a year to the real cost. We do not. Membership may still be worth having for other reasons — that is your call, not our paywall.

I only draft simple wills. Is this worth it?

If you draft regularly, yes — and it is usually the route to drafting something other than simple wills. LPAs and trusts are included at the same price, so widening what you offer costs you nothing extra and roughly doubles your average fee. That is the whole argument.
