Sixteen things in the £150 that are usually separate subscriptions.

£150 a month, per drafter. Unlimited documents, every feature included, and no VAT added — Willo is not VAT registered, so £150 is the amount that leaves your account. No setup fee, no minimum term, no notice period, no exit fee. That is the entire price list.

Charged separately, because they are physical things: print and post fulfilment per pack, and will storage through Custodian. Both optional, both run by Project Will, neither needed to use the software.

We don't do a free trial. Here is why.

Everyone else in this market does. WillSuite offer seven days. Sure Will Writer and Will Writer Pro offer fourteen. We offer none, and it is the first objection most people raise, so it deserves a straight answer rather than silence.

A fortnight alone with unfamiliar software, nobody to ask, and no real client in front of you tells you one thing: whether you can find the buttons. It does not tell you whether the trust clauses are right for the case you actually have, whether the follow-up hub fits how you work, or whether support picks up the phone. Most trials end with someone logging in twice, getting busy, and letting it lapse — which is a waste of your fortnight and tells neither of us anything.

So we do the opposite:

  1. A walkthrough with someone who drafts in Willo daily. Not a salesperson reading a script. Bring a real case and make them draft it.
  2. Then a month with everything switched on — the full platform, the training, the support.
  3. No contract, no notice period, no exit fee. If it is not for you, stop paying. Your data exports out.

The month costs £150 and you get a working practice out of it rather than a sandbox. We would rather be judged on that than on fourteen days of you clicking around on your own.

What the rest of the market charges#

Taken from each provider's own public pricing page on 14 September 2026. Where a provider does not publish a price, we say so rather than guess at one.

Provider Published price Charged per Documents Commitment
Willo £150 Per drafter Unlimited None
Arken From £107/mo 10-document pack Capped; £12.50 per further pack Annual commitments
WillSuite £150 per user/mo User Unlimited, fair usage Rolling monthly
Sure Will Writer £150 + VAT member, £180 + VAT non-member User Unlimited Monthly
CTT Legacy £120 + VAT processing licence Licence Licence-based Licence
YEPP £5/mo + £1 per case (Lite) Case Per case Monthly
Will Writer Pro Not published

What that actually costs you#

Two things move the real number: whether documents are capped, and whether VAT is added.

Willo WillSuite Sure Will Writer (member) Arken
Headline £150 £150 + VAT £150 + VAT £107 + VAT
Actually leaves your account £150 £180 £180 £128.40
Documents included Unlimited Unlimited, fair usage Unlimited 10
Trust drafting Included Included Included +£40 + VAT
Membership required None None SWW MSWW+, charged separately None

If your practice is VAT registered you reclaim the VAT and the headline numbers are the comparison. If it is not — and most one and two-person practices are under the threshold — the second row is what you actually pay, and we are £30 a month cheaper than the nearest equivalent before anyone adds a module.

Arken's entry price of £107 covers ten documents a month. A practitioner drafting sixty is buying five further packs at £12.50 each on top, then Trust Referencer at £40 + VAT if they offer trusts — which is how a £107 headline becomes well over £200 in practice.

The full working is on what will writing software actually costs.

Why there is no trial, and no annual discount#

Both are the same decision. A trial and a lock-in discount are ways of getting a commitment before you know whether the thing works. We would rather publish the price, show you it working on your own case, and earn the month. Book a walkthrough and bring a real file.

Questions

The awkward questions.

Is it £150 once, or £150 per person?

£150 a month per drafter — per person actually producing documents. What you are never charged for is volume: draft five wills a month or a hundred and the price is identical, where most of this market either caps documents or sells capacity in packs.

Is VAT added on top?

No. Willo is not VAT registered, so £150 is the whole amount. That matters if your own practice is under the VAT threshold and cannot reclaim it — £150 + VAT elsewhere is £180 actually leaving your account, against £150 here.

What does "per drafter" include?

Everything. Every document type, unlimited documents, the CRM, email, SMS, video meetings, invoicing, custom branding and the free training. There is no premium tier and no feature you will hit a wall on.

What is not included?

Print and post fulfilment is charged per pack, because it is physical paper and postage and we are not going to pretend that is free. Will storage through Custodian is separate. Everything in the software itself is included — there is no premium tier, and no feature you will hit a wall on.

Is there a setup fee or a minimum term?

No to both. No onboarding charge, no implementation fee, no minimum term, no notice period and no exit fee. You pay for the month you are in.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You export it. Clients, documents and history come out in standard formats and they are yours. We do not hold your client list hostage as a retention strategy, and any provider who makes leaving difficult is telling you something about their confidence in the product.

Do I need to be accredited or a member of anything?

No. Some providers require trade body membership before they will sell to you, which adds a few hundred pounds a year to the real cost. We do not. Project Will accreditation and training are free and optional.

What does "per drafter" include?

Everything. Every document type, every feature, unlimited documents, the CRM, email, SMS, video, invoicing and the training. There is no premium tier and no feature you will hit a wall on.

Can I pay annually for a discount?

No, and that is deliberate. Annual prepayment discounts exist to lock people in before they know whether the product works. We would rather earn the month.
