Lasting Powers of Attorney, drawn from the record you already filled in.

Both types, populated from the client record rather than retyped, with the certificate provider and attorney details validated before anything gets printed.

Willo drafts both types of Lasting Power of Attorney — Health and Welfare and Property and Financial Affairs — populated ready for submission to the Office of the Public Guardian. Both are included in the £150 monthly price. There is no separate LPA module, and no per-document charge.

Why LPAs are where practices leak money#

An LPA is a short document that takes a long time, because almost all the work is in the details around it: who the attorneys are, whether they act jointly or jointly and severally, who replaces them, who gets notified, who signs as certificate provider, and in what order everybody signs. Get the order wrong and the OPG rejects it, and you have lost a month and a client's goodwill.

It is also the most common upsell in estate planning and the one most often left on the table. A client sitting in front of you for a will is a client who needs two LPAs, and the reason they do not get offered is usually that the drafting felt like a separate job.

In Willo it is not a separate job.

How it works#

Drawn from the client record#

The family tree, addresses and relationships are already on the record from the will. Attorneys and replacements are selected from people who already exist rather than retyped, which removes the single most common source of error — the same person spelled two ways across two documents.

Validated before it prints#

The checks run as you go: an attorney appointed with no address, a certificate provider who is also an attorney, replacement attorneys named where the appointment is joint, no one listed to be notified. These are the things the OPG rejects for, and catching them at the desk costs nothing.

Both types, one flow#

Health and Welfare and Property and Financial Affairs run through the same flow, so producing a pair for a couple — four documents — is one sitting rather than four.

Kept current#

When the Office of the Public Guardian reissues a form or changes a requirement, we update Willo.

What it costs#

Included. £150 a month per drafter covers wills, LPAs, trusts, severances and letters of wishes with no document cap. Worth checking against alternatives — packaging documents into separately priced modules is normal in this market. See pricing and the comparison.

Questions

Questions about LPAs.

Does Willo draft both types of LPA?

Yes — Health and Welfare, and Property and Financial Affairs. Both are included at no extra charge and both are populated ready for submission to the Office of the Public Guardian.

Does Willo register the LPA with the OPG for me?

No. Willo produces the completed forms; registration is submitted by you or your client. We are not going to describe that as automated when it is not.

What happens when the OPG changes the forms?

We update Willo. That is the arrangement — you are not maintaining your own templates and you are not finding out at the wrong moment that you printed last year's version.

Can I do an LPA for a client who already has a will with me?

Yes, and you should not have to retype anything. Attorneys, replacement attorneys and the people to be notified are drawn from the family tree already on the client record.
