Willo vs Arken
Arken sells documents in packs and capability in modules, so the bill rises every time your practice does. Ours is one number that includes everything.
Short version. Arken prices capacity in document packs and capability in add-on modules, on annual commitments, plus VAT. Willo is £150 a month per drafter with no VAT added, unlimited documents, every document type included, and the CRM, communication, invoicing and fulfilment in the same number — on a rolling month you can leave at any time.

The real difference is packaging, not price#
Arken's headline £107 looks cheaper than £150 and, for a very low-volume practitioner, genuinely is. The structure is what changes the answer.
Arken sells document capacity in packs and capability in modules. So the practitioner who grows — more documents, then trusts, then a second person — meets a rising bill at every step. The month you start offering trust work, which is the month your average fee goes up, your software cost goes up too.
Willo sells one thing. £150 covers every document, every user and every feature. It does not get cheaper if you shrink and it does not get more expensive if you grow.
A worked example#
A sole practitioner drafting forty documents a month, offering trusts:
| Willo | Arken | |
|---|---|---|
| Base | £150 | £107 (10 docs) |
| Further documents | included | 3 further packs — £37.50 |
| Trust drafting | included | Trust Referencer — £40 |
| Client CRM | included | Lead Generator — separate |
| Monthly | £150 | £184.50 + VAT before CRM |
Add a second person and Willo stays at £150.
Where we think we win#
Price predictability. One number, published, that does not move as you grow.
Everything after the document. Arken drafts. Willo drafts and then holds the client, chases the follow-up, sends the email from your own domain, raises the invoice, collects by Direct Debit and posts the pack. For a small practice that is the difference between one subscription and four.
What sits behind it. Willo is run by Project Will, a support body with 500+ accredited practitioners, free UKRLP-registered training, overflow drafting when you are underwater, and a phone answered by people who draft.
No contract. Arken's own materials refer to annual commitments. Ours is a rolling month.

Before you ask.
Is Arken more expensive than Willo?
Usually, but not at the very bottom. Arken's entry price is £107 a month, which is less than Willo's £150 — but it covers only ten documents. Once you add further packs at £12.50 each and any of the add-on modules, a practitioner drafting normal volumes typically pays more with Arken. A practitioner drafting fewer than ten documents a month may well pay less.
Is Arken better than Willo?
At clause depth, yes. Arken has been developing its library since 1992 and maintains a legal advisory board. If your work is unusual, high-value testamentary trusts, that depth is worth paying for and we would tell you so. At price predictability, breadth of practice tools and what sits behind the software, we think we are better.
Can I move from Arken to Willo?
Yes — see switching from Arken. Check your contract first, because Arken's own materials refer to annual commitments.

Book a walkthrough with someone who drafts in Willo every day. They will open your kind of case, not a demo script, and you can stop them and ask anything.
